3 Simple Tricks to Hide Your TV

Your TV may be your favorite gadget in the house, but it sticks out like a sore thumb when it’s off. Maybe it’s casting a shadow on the beautiful art around it, or it’s taking up valuable space on a blank wall with so much potential. Whatever your situation is, wouldn’t it be nice if there were a way to hide that well-loved eyesore? Well, there is! In fact, there are several options out there. Let’s take a look at a few of our favorites.

Disappearing Act

If these walls (or ceiling) could talk, they’d tell you they have a secret. Tucked away in a sleek, barely visible cavity hides the TV. At just the push of a button, it lowers down into the room just in time for the homeowner’s favorite show or movie. And once it’s over? Push another button and the TV just slides right back up into the ceiling. This option may come at a bit of a cost, but for the ultimate in TV camouflage, look no further.

Conceal the Deal

For a more budget-friendly option, try incorporating your TV into the design of your home. There are several styles of TV cabinets on the market that allow you to shut the doors on your device when not in use. Sliding panels and screens also come in handy as decorative and effective additions to your existing TV unit. Investing in a retractable projector is a fun option, especially if you have movie-night-loving children running around. For your bedroom TV, try looking for a bed frame with a TV-hiding compartment in the footboard.

Treat it Like Art

If you choose to leave your TV out in the open but still want it to blend in, try treating it like another piece of art in your home. Create a gallery wall around your screen. If it’s hanging on the wall, place two pieces of art on either side so it becomes a custom triptych. If you have a bigger budget, invest in a TV that literally turns into a work of art like this one. See if you can trick your guests into guessing where the TV is after all.
